Paxos and Antipaxos are favourites

their clear waters (so transparent,
it seems as if the boats are
floating through the air), sandy
beaches, picturesque villages,
exceptional cuisine and tranquility.
The Diapontia isles to the west
are also an ideal destination - on
Mathraki, the endless sandy beach
of Portelo is particularly alluring,
as is Aspri Ammos on Othoni, with
its sheer white cliffs and the cave
of Calypso. If you don’t happen to
have a yacht, you can take a small
boat from Corfu town to Vido and
Lazareto, two islets that lie close
by, with unspoilt nature, beautiful
